I’m obviously not done yet; Harry’s foot isn’t even inked, his chair isn’t done, and I need to put in a background. But despite Hermione’s god awful leg and Harry’s head being too big (both of which I nearly cried because of), I decided to share this.
So I’ve been working on this the past few weeks days.
A few problems with it - Hermione’s leg and chair, Harry’s head is too big and I forgot his scar… but other than that, I think I’m pretty happy with it.
I’m probably going to try to ink it tomorrow, and I guess I’m just posting this here just in case I completely botch it up with the pen. But seeing as it’s the only way to get my scanner to even consider picking up any of the lines….
So, yeah.
I have this dream. Something that I have to do before I die, even if I end up doing it crappily.
I want to make the Harry Potter series into a graphic novel-ish-thingy. Basically, just draw every single scene out in a realistic-yet-comic-ish style. It would be completely and utterly true to the book, down to the punctuation. No scene would be left out, and every itty bitty thing in there would be drawn out and coloured.
There are a few problems with this.
First, the narration will be a bit of a problem, but a fixable one. I’d be able to figure that one out.
Second, and slightly more importantly, I obviously have to stop sucking at drawing humans. If lessons weren’t so bloody expensive I’d get some, but they are, so I can’t. So I’m kind of waiting for college so that I can squeeze in a few figure drawing classes in between and around my foundational arts courses.
Third, someone is bound to beat me to it. And when (not if) I find out that they finally have, I will (it’s not even a possibility) cry. Literally. I’ll probably still do it, it’s just that it won’t be an original idea anymore.
I don’t need for it to be published or anything (it would obviously be unbelievably amazing if it was, but it’s too unrealistic). This is just the one thing I need to do before I can die happily.
This post ended up being longer than I wanted, and no one’s gonna read it.
Oh, well.
